How we felt about premarital mentoring:
Before we started pre-marital mentoring, we felt like it was something we both wanted to do and that it would be good for us and our future marriage.
Once we started, it confirmed our thoughts going into it.
Most valuable part:
We found that the most valuable part of pre-marital mentoring was the intentional and set aside time to cover many topics going into marriage. Even though we were on the same page about many things, it helped to confirm and clarify topics we had not yet talked about in detail.
Changes in how we relate to each other:
Going into marriage, we felt like we had set a strong foundation for communicating with one another, not letting seemingly small problems turn into big ones, and various strategies to utilize if difficult situations were to come up.
What would we say to someone unsure about premarital mentoring:
When you are honest with yourself and each-other, there are really only good things that can come from it! You are investing in your marriage before it even begins, which is a good place to start!
